That’s right KnowPain is coming to NZ! Again! Yes a few lucky clinicians in Auckland and Christchurch got to attend KnowPain in March/April 2015 and it was such a success we decided to bring it back! This time there’s a bit of a twist.
How much we would love to have Mike back (i know he and Chris would love to come back), Dr Bronnie Thompson and I are honoured and flattered to have been asked by Mike to deliver KnowPain with a squeeze of kiwi (that’s the fruit, not the protected and very rare bird).
So pain is many things! It’s biological, psychological, sociological, philosophical, phenomenological, historical, environmental, which means its contextual. So it’s not simple and explaining it can be difficult, especially all the fancy neurobiological… er… stuff! KnowPain wants to make it simple. It wants to teach you how to deliver pain education simply, dialogically, Socratically and collaboratively at a level that is understandable for your patients.
KnowPain advocates the underpinnings of therapeutic neuroscience education (TNE) which is a key component of the Moseley and Butler Explain Pain approach to pain management. TNE is an effective evidence based means for improving health outcomes for people with chronic pain.
So here’s where we need your help! KnowPainNZ is looking for organisers to bring the course to a town near you in the North and South Islands.

And here’s what to expect:
We look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers for having read.
